A lifegain package turns each Angel entering, or each lifelink hit, into +1/+1 counters, extra Angel tokens and cards, so the board snowballs in the air. How it wins: It overwhelms opponents with a growing squadron of oversized, often lifelinked flyers, closing with team-wide pump or keyword grants, and can also take out attacked players through Angel of Destiny once its life total climbs high enough. Key roles: - Angel cost reduction and ramp: Giada's Angel-only mana, type-based discounts and white cost reducers chain several Angels in one turn, which compounds Giada's entry counters (Urza's Incubator, Herald of War, Cavern of Souls). - Lifegain counter engine: Angels entering and lifelink damage trigger life gain, which turns into counters across the team, extra Angel tokens and card draw (Archangel of Thune, Righteous Valkyrie, Lyra, Archangel of Dawn). - Anthems and team evasion: Static boosts and once-per-turn keyword grants make the whole Angel board lethal in one swing (Lyra Dawnbringer, Akroma's Will, Angelic Skirmisher). - Land-parity catch-up: Since the deck plays few nonbasic ramp pieces, it fetches basics while opponents control more lands, smoothing its curve (Land Tax, Archaeomancer's Map, Surveyor's Scope). - Equipment toolbox: A small equipment suite found by tutors adds trample, lifelink, card draw, haste and protection to key Angels (Stoneforge Mystic, Shadowspear, Sword of Hearth and Home). - Board protection and resets: Phasing, indestructibility and protection spells shield the flyer army, which lets the deck sweep or punish opposing boards while keeping its own (Teferi's Protection, Flawless Maneuver, Avacyn, Angel of Hope).
