Golbez, Crystal Collector is an artifact-focused deck that floods the battlefield with cheap artifacts and token-generating effects to trigger Golbez's end-step ability, which recurs creatures from the graveyard and drains opponents based on the returned creature's power. The deck leverages surveil payoffs, cost-reduction effects, and cards like Matoya, Archon Elder to chain together value while filling the graveyard with high-power creatures such as Broodstar, Shambling Suit, and Apocalypse Demon, which grow relative to artifacts or graveyard size and deal massive life loss when recurred via Golbez. Syr Konrad, the Grim provides an additional drain engine that punishes the constant flow of creatures moving in and out of graveyards, creating multiple overlapping paths to close out the game.
