Aerith, Last Ancient — Commander art

Queen Aerith

Aerith, Last Ancient Commander Deck

A green-white lifegain value deck that gains life every turn so Aerith, Last Ancient's end-step Raise trigger keeps rebuying creatures, returning them straight to the battlefield on turns with 7 or more life gained. Small incidental drains from creatures entering, lifelinkers and burst spells feed a web of "whenever you gain life" payoffs that draw cards, grow the board and make mana. Self-mill and discard outlets fill the graveyard with big creatures for Aerith to reanimate. How it wins: It snowballs life total and card advantage into either a Felidar Sovereign upkeep win at 40 life or an overwhelming board of counter-pumped lifelinking fliers and huge tramplers. Key roles: - Lifegain triggers: Creatures entering, lifelink, Food and burst gain spells keep life flowing every turn, often in chunks of 7 or more so Aerith, Last Ancient returns creatures directly to play. (Essence Warden, Heroes' Reunion, Leyline of Hope) - Gain-life payoffs: These turn each life-gain event into cards, counters, cheaper creatures or mana. Several are capped at once per turn, so they reward gaining life every turn rather than many times in one turn. (Archangel of Thune, Well of Lost Dreams, Kwia Vigorbloom) - Graveyard setup for Raise: Discard and mill effects put large creatures like Zetalpa, Primal Dawn or Altanak into the graveyard, ready for Aerith, Last Ancient to cheat back. Other recursion supplements this. (Fauna Shaman, Shigeki, Jukai Visionary, Cosmic Rebirth) - Ramp and land recursion: Mana dorks, land-fetch and land recursion accelerate into expensive threats, with some landfall-style returns to the battlefield. (Sakura-Tribe Elder, Summon: Titan, Nissa's Renewal) - Fog and control shell: Combat-damage prevention, exile removal and opponent taxing buy time for the life total to climb toward the Sovereign threshold. (Riot Control, Swords to Plowshares, Authority of the Consuls) - Finishers: An alternate-win lifegain creature and big evasive bodies, made larger by counters, close the game. (Felidar Sovereign, Zetalpa, Primal Dawn, Exemplar of Light)
