Dina, Soul Steeper sits at the center of a life-drain engine that leverages a constant stream of token creatures — primarily Pests, Squirrels, and other small tokens — that are repeatedly created and sacrificed to trigger a web of "opponent loses life / you gain life" effects from death and life-gain payoffs. Exquisite Blood and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose amplify every life-gain event into additional opponent life loss, creating cascading damage that can eliminate the table, while Bolas's Citadel offers an alternate path by chaining spells off the top of the library and closing out games with its sacrifice ability. Sacrifice outlets and card draw spells that cost creatures ensure the engine stays fueled, while recursive creatures and token doublers keep the battlefield stocked with fodder to feed Dina's death-trigger constellation.
