Jace, Multiverse Architect
Jace, Multiverse Architect Commander Deck
Jace, Multiverse Architect leads a four-color control deck that makes cheap creature tokens with noncreature spells and turns them into the strongest creatures and planeswalkers in its library. Jace's −3 exiles a token and reveals cards until it hits a creature or planeswalker, then puts that card onto the battlefield. The deck runs only a handful of creatures and planeswalkers, all of them high-impact, so each flip lands a bomb. Between flips, Jace's +1 filters the hand, his attack tax shields him, and a heavy suite of counters, removal and wraths keeps the board in check while the polymorph targets come together. How it wins: It cheats huge creatures and powerful planeswalkers into play off expendable tokens, then rides them to victory behind a wall of interaction once opponents have been ground down. Key roles: - Token fodder: Instants, sorceries, enchantments and artifacts that create creature tokens. They feed Jace's −3 and other polymorph effects without adding creature cards that would dilute the reveals. - Polymorph effects: Spells and abilities beyond the commander that exile, sacrifice or transform a token and reveal cards until they hit a creature or planeswalker. They give the deck redundant ways to turn a token into a bomb. - Curated payoff targets: A small, deliberate set of game-ending creatures and planeswalkers with high mana costs or immediate impact. These are the only cards the reveals can hit, so every hit is worth cheating out. - Control suite: Counterspells, spot removal and board wipes that keep opponents from developing or punishing the deck. One-sided or token-friendly sweepers fit best, since the deck can rebuild fodder cheaply. - Planeswalker support and protection: Effects that add loyalty, copy or reuse planeswalker abilities, or deter attacks. These pair with Jace's {2} attack tax to keep Jace and the other walkers alive long enough to activate repeatedly. - Card selection and setup: Jace's +1 plus scry, draw and library-manipulation effects. They smooth the deck's land and spell mix and keep its interaction flowing.
