Wick, the Whorled Mind

Wick, the Whorled Mind Commander Deck

by Catstronaut100 cards

This is a Rats tribal swarm deck. Every Rat entering under Wick, the Whorled Mind either makes a Snail or grows the existing one with a +1/+1 counter. Sacrificing that fattened Snail for UBR turns the accumulated counters into direct damage to each opponent plus an equal number of cards. Mass Rat token generation feeds both Wick's Snail and Rat-count payoffs. Sacrifice outlets and death triggers recycle bodies into more Rats, card draw and incidental damage. How it wins: It floods the board with Rats, then closes either through a huge Snail sacrifice that burns every opponent at once, or through Rat-scaling attackers boosted by anthems, evasion, deathtouch and toxic, with Impact Tremors and Goblin Bombardment chipping in the remainder. Key roles: - Rat token flood: These cards create multiple Rats, sometimes repeatedly or exponentially. Each Rat entering grows Wick's Snail and inflates the Rat count. (Marrow-Gnawer, Lord Skitter, Sewer King, Chittering Witch) - Snail burn and draw engine: Wick, the Whorled Mind converts the Snail's counters into reach and cards. Enter-triggered damage and draw from Rat entries stack alongside it. Mad Ratter turns that extra draw back into more Rats. (Impact Tremors, Kindred Discovery, Mad Ratter) - Tribal unifiers and copies: These make every creature a Rat, so non-Rat bodies and tokens also trigger Wick. Some double Rat spells as well. (Maskwood Nexus, Conspiracy, Reflections of Littjara) - Rat-count scaling beaters: These creatures grow with the swarm. Team boosts, menace, fear, deathtouch and toxic turn a wide board into lethal combat. (Pack Rat, Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm, Ogre Slumlord) - Sacrifice and death recursion: Outlets turn tokens into damage or cards. Death triggers replace lost bodies with new Rats, and graveyard tools rebuild the board after wipes, including the deck's own Blasphemous Act. (Goblin Bombardment, Skullclamp, Totentanz, Swarm Piper) - Interaction and protection: Cheap counters keep Wick and the engine running through opposing removal and combo turns. (Fierce Guardianship, Counterspell, Swiftfoot Boots)
