Betor, Ancestor's Voice drives a life gain engine that rewards you for both gaining and losing life each turn, distributing +1/+1 counters onto your creatures based on life gained and recurring creatures from your graveyard based on life lost. A dense package of "whenever a creature enters, gain 1 life" effects fuels Betor's counter distribution, while deliberate life loss through card draw spells and pay-life abilities keeps a steady flow of creatures returning from the graveyard. The deck wins by growing an enormous army and closing out games with Craterhoof Behemoth or Overwhelming Stampede, or by converting life gain into direct opponent damage through Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Aetherflux Reservoir.
