Karlov of the Ghost Council sits at the center of a life gain engine that converts every instance of life gain into +1/+1 counters, allowing Karlov to grow enormous and repeatedly exile opposing creatures as a control tool. The deck fuels this engine through a dense network of creatures that trigger on other creatures entering, extort effects, and passive drain from enchantments and opponents' actions, stacking life gain events to rapidly load counters onto Karlov and other payoffs. The primary win conditions are converting overwhelming life totals into direct damage through Aetherflux Reservoir or Sanguine Bond, draining opponents out with mass life loss spells like Exsanguinate and Debt to the Deathless, or simply attacking with a Karlov that has grown into a massive threat.
