The deck layers on additional life-loss and card-draw triggers through enchantments and creatures that punish opponents for drawing cards or spending mana, keeping the damage threshold for Y'shtola's draw trigger consistently met. The primary win conditions are combos involving Bloodchief Ascension paired with either Mindcrank or The Master of Lake-town, both of which convert life loss into infinite mill once Bloodchief Ascension is fully charged, supported by a robust suite of counterspells and interaction to protect the combo.
