A suite of counter-doubling and counter-payoff enchantments accelerates the size of the team, and Simic Ascendancy provides an alternate path to victory by accumulating growth counters on the permanents you control. The deck wins primarily through an overwhelming combat presence of massive, evasive Merfolk, with Herald of Secret Streams rendering the entire counter-laden team unblockable to close out games.
