Helga is a creature-chain engine. Mana dorks and land auras ramp into a dense pile of four-plus mana value creatures, and each cast draws a card, gains life and grows Helga. A bigger Helga taps for more restricted mana, which casts more big creatures. Stacked cast-draw engines, untappers that reuse Helga's growing mana, and a heavy clone suite turn the chain into near-limitless mana, cards and bounce. A blue counter suite protects the chain throughout. How it wins: The deck chains creature casts into infinite or near-infinite mana and loops: untap engines on Helga or Gaea's Cradle, bounce-recast loops with Hullbreaker Horror, or copied untappers. It then converts that into Walking Ballista damage or an overwhelming board under protection. Key roles: - Early mana and fixing: one-drop dorks and mana-doubling land auras let Helga come down early and pay for the first four-drops, while tutors find the right creature for each turn. (Noble Hierarch, Utopia Sprawl, Birds of Paradise) - Cast-trigger card engines: these stack with Helga's own trigger so each big creature spell draws several cards, keeping the chain going and turning flash creatures into instant-speed refuel. (Beast Whisperer, Chulane, Teller of Tales, Tanufel Rimespeaker) - Untap and mana-multiplying package: these untap Helga, Gaea's Cradle or every creature, so a large Helga taps repeatedly, often going infinite with cast or enter triggers. (Seedborn Muse, Intruder Alarm, Chakram Retriever) - Clone suite: four-drop copy creatures each trigger Helga on cast, and they duplicate the best engine, untapper, bounce creature or Helga herself to break loops open. (Spark Double, Sakashima of a Thousand Faces, Phyrexian Metamorph) - Bounce and recast loops: enter-trigger and cast-trigger bouncers reset opponents' boards and return cheap pieces to recast for repeated triggers, and with enough mana they become a lock. (Hullbreaker Horror, Venser, Shaper Savant, Ancestral Statue) - Interaction and finishers: free counters and flash threats shield the combo turn, and X-cost creatures that Helga's mana can pay for turn surplus mana into damage or cards. (Force of Will, Walking Ballista, Wan Shi Tong, Librarian)
