This mono-black deck plays a theft game with Arvinox, the Mind Flail. Every end step Arvinox exiles the bottom card of each opponent's library, and the deck can cast permanents from those cards with mana of any color. Arvinox only becomes a 9/9 creature once three or more permanents it doesn't own are on its side, so the rest of the list steals: it reanimates opponents' creatures from their graveyards, turns their deaths into its own creatures, and plays cards out of their libraries and hands, all fueled by a large Swamp-based mana engine. How it wins: Stolen creatures, big demons and a now-active 9/9 Arvinox carrying evasive or protective Equipment beat opponents down, while Exsanguinate, fueled by huge Swamp mana, can drain the table to finish. Key roles: - Casting from opponents' decks: These cards exile cards from opponents' libraries and hands and let the deck play them, often with mana of any color, giving card advantage and stolen permanents alongside Arvinox's end-step trigger (Opposition Agent, Praetor's Grasp, Mindleecher). - Taking over opponents' creatures: These cards reanimate or redirect opponents' dying creatures onto this side of the table, which quickly reaches the three unowned permanents Arvinox needs (Gisa, Glorious Resurrector, Grave Betrayal, Geth, Lord of the Vault). - Edicts and wipes as fuel: Edict creatures, sacrifice-punisher enchantments and one-sided board wipes force opponents' creatures into graveyards, where the theft cards collect them, and mass-reanimation spells take them all back at once (Grave Pact, Plague Wind, Rise of the Dark Realms). - Swamp mana engine: An all-Swamp mana base with Urborg, Swamp doublers, Coffers effects and devotion lands produces enough black mana for seven-drops, Exsanguinate and repeated reanimation activations (Crypt Ghast, Cabal Coffers, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx). - Life as a resource: Paying life refills the hand, and lifelink keeps the life total stable (Necropotence, Vilis, Broker of Blood, Whip of Erebos). - Equipment for the threats: Swords and protective Equipment make Arvinox and the stolen creatures hard to remove or block, and their combat-damage triggers add value (Sword of Feast and Famine, Champion's Helm, Lightning Greaves).
