Tony Stark
Tony Stark Commander Deck
Tony Stark is an artifact-toolbox Voltron deck. Tony digs the top four cards for artifacts, then transforms into a flying, hasty Iron Man that cheats an artifact from hand onto the battlefield at each beginning of combat, attaching it to himself if it's Equipment. The rest of the list feeds that engine: artifact cost reduction and improvise, mana rocks, artifact-based card advantage, and copy effects. Together they pile heavy Equipment and big artifact threats onto an evasive commander or a wide artifact board. How it wins: Iron Man or another flier carries damage-multiplying, life-halving and removal Equipment through the air for commander damage or lethal hits, with the artifact army, Armor Wars, Maximum Carnage and mill attackers as backup reach. Key roles: - Artifact digging and card flow: Tony's front face, artifact-revealing cards and artifact-count draw keep a steady supply of artifacts to feed the combat-step cheat and to ramp off of (Iron Lad, Diverging Destiny, Thought Monitor, Armor Wars). - Cost reduction and artifact mana: discounts, improvise and rocks make the transform affordable early and let several artifacts come down per turn (Enthusiastic Mechanaut, Ironheart, Clever Champion, Gilded Lotus). - Equipment suite on Iron Man: once flipped, Tony slots Equipment in free each combat. These pieces turn him into a lethal threat by doubling his strikes, halving life totals, destroying permanents on attack and protecting him (Quietus Spike, Fireshrieker, Argentum Armor). - Copy and token synergy: copying artifact spells or entering artifacts multiplies big Equipment and threats. Artifact entries spawn scaling constructs and Thopters, and Donatello adds extra tokens (Iron Man, Bleeding Edge, Ultron, Artificial Malevolence, Simulacrum Synthesizer). - Big artifact finishers: oversized artifact creatures put onto the battlefield by Iron Man or tutored by Vision Quest end games by granting evasion and indestructibility across the board or milling huge chunks of a library (Krang, Utrom Warlord, Myr Battlesphere, Terisian Mindbreaker). - Damage amplification and burn reach: counters from Coin of Mastery, Iron Man, Armored Avenger and Hexavus combine with damage doubling, while sagas supply direct damage to close out games (Raphael, the Muscle, Maximum Carnage, Armor Wars).
