Gwen Stacy // Ghost-Spider is a Jeskai "play from exile" deck. Card advantage comes from impulse-style exile effects instead of drawing, and casting those cards turns on a layer of payoffs. Gwen herself exiles a card on entry and transforms into a hasty, evasive Ghost-Spider. Ghost-Spider grows a +1/+1 counter each time a land or spell is played from exile, then spends two counters to exile more cards, so she is a self-feeding engine. A secondary package of modified creatures and Spiders turns counters and combat damage into even more exiled cards, extra draws and growing attackers. How it wins: It chains plays from exile into incidental damage, tokens and card advantage, then finishes opponents with a wide, counter-laden flying and hasty board backed by direct damage from exile triggers. Key roles: - Exile card advantage: Recurring and one-shot impulse effects replace normal draws and keep a steady stream of playable cards in exile to feed Ghost-Spider's counters. (Wild Wasteland, Eruth, Tormented Prophet, Charred Foyer // Warped Space) - Cast-from-exile payoffs: Every land or spell played from exile drains opponents, makes flying hasty Thopters, gains life or draws cards, which turns the engine's volume into damage and board presence. (Shadow of the Goblin, Pia Nalaar, Consul of Revival, Quintorius Kand) - Exile cost reduction and copying: These cards make exiled spells cheaper or free and copy one of them each turn, so several exiled cards can be deployed in a single turn. (Spider-Verse, Sage of the Beyond, Interdimensional Web Watch) - Modified-creature combat engine: Counter sources make creatures "modified," and modified attackers then exile cards, draw on combat damage and gain lifelink. This feeds the exile loop through combat and fuels Ghost-Spider's ability to remove counters.
