This is an Esper spellslinger control deck. Y'shtola, Night's Blessed turns every noncreature spell with mana value 3 or more into 2 damage to each opponent plus 2 life, and her end-step draw rewards turns where someone lost 4 or more life. The list is dense with three-mana-plus counterspells, removal, card selection and enchantments, so ordinary interaction doubles as a burn engine. Cost reducers, extra "whenever you cast a noncreature spell" pingers and taxing defensive enchantments let it chain several triggers a turn while holding the board. How it wins: Opponents' life totals are drained by repeated Y'shtola and Wizard pings while the deck controls the game, with big finishers like Exsanguinate, Fandaniel's end-step drain or Mega Flare closing it out. Key roles: - Noncreature-cast pingers: Extra permanents stack 1 damage to each opponent, or a token body, on every noncreature spell. This multiplies Y'shtola, Night's Blessed's burn and helps push a player past 4 life lost for her draw. (Papalymo Totolymo, Black Mage's Rod, Circle of Power) - Three-mana-plus interaction: Counterspells, spot removal and wraths sit at mana value 3 or higher so that answering threats also triggers the commander. Several of them, like Absorb and Arcane Denial, also gain life or draw cards. (Absorb, Void Rend, Cryptic Command) - Cost reduction and spell chaining: Reducers and second-spell payoffs make it possible to cast multiple qualifying spells per turn, and free-cast engines turn big turns into bursts of triggers. (Lyse Hext, Alisaie Leveilleur, One with the Multiverse) - Spell-fueled card advantage: Engines draw or make value whenever qualifying spells are cast, keeping the counter-and-burn plan stocked. (Jin-Gitaxias // The Great Synthesis, Shark Typhoon, Hermes, Overseer of Elpis) - Graveyard recasting and drain finish: Opponents losing life lets Emet-Selch of the Third Seat recast instants and sorceries once per turn, re-triggering the commander. A spell-filled graveyard powers Fandaniel's punishing end-step drain. (Emet-Selch of the Third Seat, Fandaniel, Telophoroi Ascian, Exsanguinate) - Enchantment fortress and copying: Attack taxes and lifegain enchantments keep Y'shtola, Night's Blessed's controller alive, while copy effects double key enchantments and engines. (Propaganda, Sphere of Safety, Ondu Spiritdancer)
