The deck accumulates counters through proliferate effects, Hakbal of the Surging Soul's explore engine, and doubling enchantments, then wins either by making an unblockable or unstoppable army with Herald of Secret Streams or by accumulating twenty growth counters on Simic Ascendancy. Multiple lords and evasion effects like islandwalk ensure the Merfolk swarm can push through combat damage even without the alternate win condition.
