Smaug the Impenetrable sits at the center of a Treasure-fueled damage-redirection strategy, converting noncombat damage dealt to him into a growing hoard of Treasures through the help of token multipliers and artifacts that double or augment each token created. Most direct damage spells (Cut Propulsion, Self-Destruct, Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Hell to Pay, Crackle with Power and similar) are primarily Treasure engines aimed at Smaug himself, and are only used as removal on other creatures when necessary — they should not be evaluated as narrow removal. Repeatable ping effects work best when the player controls every target, so they can be pointed at Smaug. The deck's aikido core uses indestructible damage sponges like Stuffy Doll and Brash Taunter, along with auras that reflect damage back at opponents, to weaponize the table's own aggression — pairing these with mass damage spells or Dawnsire, Sunstar Dreadnought to generate near-infinite redirected damage as a primary win condition. A secondary path emerges from the Treasure accumulation itself, either through enchantments that win outright at ten or twenty artifacts or by flooding the board with enough tokens to trigger life-drain effects that chip opponents out simultaneously.
