The Reanimated Terror

Crosis, the Purger Commander Deck

by Tenebas99 cards

Grixis reanimator: looting, wheel and dig effects fill the graveyard with creatures, then a heavy suite of reanimation spells and auras puts them onto the battlefield cheaply. A package of instant-speed "return when it dies" tricks, sacrifice outlets like Grimgrin and Victimize, and recursive bodies turn creature deaths into value. Crosis is a flying 6/6 finisher whose combat damage can be converted, for {2}{B}, into a targeted discard of a whole color from the damaged player's hand. How it wins: It beats down with reanimated or recast large threats like Crosis, Grimgrin and an unearthed Kederekt Leviathan, removing blockers along the way and stripping opponents' hands with Crosis's discard trigger. Key roles: - Graveyard filling: Loot, wheel and self-mill effects discard or mill creature cards so reanimation targets are ready early, with flashback looting giving extra fuel (Faithless Looting, Windfall, Stitcher's Supplier). - Reanimation suite: Cheap sorceries and auras return big creatures, Crosis included, straight from the graveyard, and some can steal from opponents' graveyards (Animate Dead, Victimize, Beacon of Unrest). - Death-return tricks: One-mana instants make a creature come back when it dies, protecting key threats from removal and re-triggering enter-the-battlefield removal on creatures like Nekrataal and Faceless Butcher (Undying Malice, Feign Death, Supernatural Stamina). - Sacrifice fodder and aristocrats: Small recursive or death-trigger creatures feed Grimgrin, Victimize and Dread Return's flashback while drawing cards or making Treasure (Persistent Specimen, Novice Occultist, Shambling Ghast). - Creature-based removal: Enter-the-battlefield and attack-trigger kill effects clear blockers, and reanimating or recurring them repeats the effect (Nekrataal, Faceless Butcher, Grimgrin, Corpse-Born). - Damage-triggered value: Evasive attackers and combat-damage payoffs turn hits into hand disruption, card advantage and graveyard retrieval, with Crosis's discard trigger at the center (Florian, Voldaren Scion, Ghost of Ramirez DePietro, Invisible Stalker).
