BOMB Reanimation v2. Tuturless. Sauron, Lord of the Rings
Sauron, Lord of the Rings Commander Deck
Sauron, Lord of the Rings anchors a fast reanimator strategy that aims to present a huge, intimidating board very early — opponents often concede on seeing it. The ideal opening: a looting effect on turns 1–3 (Faithless Looting, Careful Study, Frantic Search, Bugle/Vault-style rummagers, milling) to bin a big creature, cheap reanimation on turns 2–3 (Reanimate, Animate Dead, Necromancy, Dance of the Dead, Exhume), then a ritual effect the same or next turn. Since nearly all creatures cost 4+, Energy Tap, Sacrifice and Burnt Offering turn a reanimated fatty into a burst of mana for a commander cast, rocks or additional costs; Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual and Songs of the Damned add to this. Sneak Attack provides another way to cheat threats into play. Mass reanimation is the main win condition: Living Death and Bringer of the Last Gift usually win the game once they resolve. Cheap board wipes (Toxic Deluge, Blasphemous Act) are not generic control — they keep the deck alive until the mass-reanimation turn and punish fast decks that dumped their hands in the first 3–4 turns. Slower wipes like Massacre Wurm and Toxrill can't reliably come down that early. Sire of Insanity strips every player's hand: each card is a potential answer to the board, and after a reanimation the deck's board is usually far ahead, so empty hands lock in the lead (and demoralise opponents). Once threats like Archon of Cruelty, It That Betrays or Jin-Gitaxias are in play, the deck generates overwhelming value through stolen permanents, hand disruption and repeated ETB punishment. It closes with extra combats, haste from Anger and flying from Wonder in the graveyard, and Terror of the Peaks triggers as reanimated creatures flood the battlefield. No tutors — the deck stays at a low bracket.
