Edgar anchors a creature-heavy midrange deck that turns its own creatures into fuel. Expendable bodies and death-trigger creatures are sacrificed to Edgar's activated ability, which grows him with +1/+1 counters and gives him menace, while each death gains life and feeds lifegain and Treasure payoffs. A Vampire core and a spread of enter-the-battlefield drain effects add steady incremental damage around the main beater. How it wins: It grinds out value from dying creatures, drains opponents with life-loss triggers, and closes with a large menacing Edgar backed by evasive Vampires and fliers. Key roles: - Sacrifice fodder with value: creatures that leave something behind when Edgar eats them, whether tokens, cards, Treasure, counters or life loss, so each activation is card-neutral or better (Agents of HYDRA, Tattered Mummy, Syndicate Messenger) - Death payoffs and extra sac outlets: cards that convert every creature death into mana, pump or reanimation, stacking on Edgar's lifegain trigger (Pitiless Plunderer, Thallid Omnivore, Whisper, Blood Liturgist) - Drain and lifegain: enter-the-battlefield life swings and extort chip at opponents, while creatures that reward gaining life grow off Edgar's trigger (Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Vampire Sovereign, Ajani's Pridemate) - Vampire tribe: Edgar's own creature type ties in a small Vampire package that pumps, recurs and scales its drain with the Vampire count (Legion Lieutenant, Queen's Bay Paladin, Bishop of the Bloodstained) - Recursion: brings sacrificed creatures back to the hand or battlefield so the fodder supply keeps going (Gravedigger, The Mountain-king's Return, Demonic Vigor) - Evasive pressure: flying and menace bodies plus menace-granting Auras push combat damage through alongside a counter-laden Edgar (Untamed Hunger, Sengir Vampire, Kingpin's Pet)
