Ragost, Deft Gastronaut turns the entire artifact base into a life-gaining and damage engine, since every artifact doubles as a Food that can restore life, and each Food sacrificed to Ragost pings all opponents for 3 damage while the life gain untaps him for repeated activations. The deck floods the board with artifact tokens — Treasures, Foods, Gnomes, Thopters, and more — through a dense network of token generators and copy effects, while Academy Manufactor multiplies every token type to rapidly accumulate sacrifice fodder. Passive damage triggers from enter-the-battlefield and sacrifice effects grind opponents down simultaneously, and the life-gain payoffs draw extra cards and enable free casts, keeping the engine fueled until Ragost has activated enough times to close out the game.
