Doran, Besieged by Time rewards building a board of high-toughness creatures by reducing their casting costs and pumping them to their toughness when they engage in combat, making defensive-statted creatures into efficient, threatening attackers. The deck layers on multiple redundant effects that make creatures deal damage equal to their toughness, generates life gain off that same toughness, and leverages total board toughness as a resource for drawing cards, creating large tokens, and triggering alternate win conditions like Felidar Sovereign and Test of Endurance. The primary combo win involves using Overkill to create a massive toughness differential on a creature, then triggering Jaws of Defeat on an entering creature to drain a target opponent for near-infinite life.
