Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER // Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel
Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER // Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel Commander Deck
Mono-black aristocrats built around Sephiroth: the deck sacrifices its own creatures over and over, and each death drains an opponent while sac outlets and death triggers turn the bodies into cards and mana. The commander's front face drains on every creature death and draws when it enters or attacks. Four drains in one turn flip it into One-Winged Angel, which leaves a permanent drain emblem and can sacrifice a whole board on attack for cards. Edict creatures, recursive fodder and Grave Pact make sure every death on either side of the table adds to the drain. How it wins: The deck stacks so many drain-per-death effects that one big sacrifice turn, usually through free sac outlets or a transformed Sephiroth's attack, drains the table out, with Gray Merchant and other burst drains finishing low opponents. Key roles: - Drain payoffs: These stack on top of Sephiroth's own trigger so every creature death drains several times. They also help reach the four resolutions that transform it. (Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance) - Free sac outlets and mana: Repeatable outlets kill creatures at will, often at no cost. Many of them make mana or Treasure, which funds more casting and recursion in the same turn. (Ashnod's Altar, Phyrexian Altar, Warren Soultrader) - Recursive and self-replacing fodder: Creatures that return from the graveyard, leave a token behind, or keep making new bodies give the outlets an endless supply of deaths. (Reassembling Skeleton, Gravecrawler, Bloodghast) - Symmetric edicts and Grave Pact: Each-player sacrifice effects and Grave Pact punish opponents while feeding Sephiroth's triggers from both sides of the board. Opponents' creatures dying count toward the transformation too. (Grave Pact, Fleshbag Marauder, Plaguecrafter) - Death-fueled card draw: Sacrifices turn into cards through the commander's attack trigger and dedicated draw engines, keeping the fodder and payoffs flowing. (Skullclamp, Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Village Rites) - Trigger doubling and devotion burst: The Masamune doubles death-caused triggers on the equipped Sephiroth and on its emblem. Heavy black devotion powers Gray Merchant, Nykthos and Cabal Coffers for explosive turns. (The Masamune, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx)
