Jin Sakai, Ghost of Tsushima
Jin Sakai, Ghost of Tsushima Commander Deck
Jin Sakai turns every lone attacker into a threat: when a single creature attacks a player, it gains double strike or becomes unblockable. That makes each combat-damage trigger in the deck far more reliable or doubled. The list is full of creatures that cash in on hitting a player: ninjas that swap in for an unblocked attacker, card-draw and treasure engines, half-life drains, and theft effects. Equipment and auras pump the lone attacker into a lethal threat, and taxing enchantments, counterspells and spot removal keep the board stable while it goes in. How it wins: It attacks with one evasive or double-striking creature each turn, either a heavily equipped voltron attacker or a creature carrying a half-life or instant-loss trigger, and can also chain extra turns by repeatedly ninjutsu-ing Medomai the Ageless in through Satoru Umezawa. Key roles: - Lone-attacker enablers: Jin Sakai's attack trigger and other effects grant unblockability or double strike to a solo attacker, so damage triggers fire reliably and often twice. (Kamiz, Obscura Oculus, Squall, SeeD Mercenary, Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive) - Ninjutsu tricks: an unblocked attacker is returned to hand to drop a ninja in attacking, which rebuys enter-the-battlefield value. Satoru Umezawa gives every creature in hand ninjutsu and digs for cards, which lets Medomai the Ageless sneak in during extra turns, where it cannot attack, to keep taking more turns. (Satoru Umezawa, Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow, Medomai the Ageless) - Combat-damage payoffs: hitting a player draws cards, makes treasure, steals or free-casts opponents' cards, bounces blockers, or reanimates, so every connection snowballs. (Enduring Curiosity, Fallen Shinobi, Grim Hireling) - Lethal-hit finishers: deathtouch and half-life-loss triggers, made far deadlier by double strike, plus an instant-loss saga chapter, end games in one or two connections. (Quietus Spike, Unstoppable Slasher, Summon: Primal Odin) - Equipment voltron package: huge stat boosts and extra combats are fetched, flashed in and cheaply attached, which turns a single double-striking attacker into commander damage or lethal. (Colossus Hammer, Genji Glove, Puresteel Paladin) - Defensive control shell: attack taxes discourage counterattacks against a deck that commits only one attacker, while cheap counters and exile effects protect the key creature and clear blockers. (Propaganda, Ghostly Prison, Dovin's Veto)
