Teysa, Opulent Oligarch Commander Deck

Teysa, Opulent Oligarch drains opponents' life through attack triggers and passive drain effects from cards that punish life loss, while simultaneously generating a stream of Clue tokens that convert into Spirit tokens whenever they are sacrificed or destroyed. The deck leverages token sacrifice outlets and artifact synergies to turn those Clues and Spirits into additional value, feeding drain payoffs like Mirkwood Bats that deal damage whenever tokens leave the battlefield. Ad Nauseam paired with Teferi's Protection can refuel the hand explosively, and the deck protects its life-loss gameplan with multiple fog and protection effects to survive long enough to close out through incremental bleeding. A critical part of the gameplan is establishing life loss before Teysa enters the battlefield. Ten specific early-game cards — Drossclaw, Lim-Dûl's Hex, Night Market Lookout, Postmortem Professor, Vicious Conquistador, Shepherd of Rot, Corpse Knight, Mardu Shadowspear, Sanctum of Stone Fangs, and Creeping Bloodsucker — are deployed on turns 1 and 2 so that when Teysa resolves on turn 3, she immediately investigates for each opponent who lost life that turn, generating up to 3 Clues on the first end step she is in play.
