Muddle, the Ever-Changing turns every instant or sorcery into a combat threat by copying a powerful creature on the battlefield and attacking with myriad, flooding the board with temporary tokens that trigger enter-the-battlefield effects across all opponents simultaneously. The deck fuels this engine with cheap cantrips, cost reducers, and Elemental synergies to cast spells repeatedly, copying key attackers like Goldspan Dragon or Terror of the Peaks for maximum impact. The primary win conditions leverage infinite loops through Rionya, Fire Dancer paired with Port Razer for unbounded combat phases or with Terror of the Peaks for lethal damage, while a Storm-Kiln Artist and Archaeomancer loop generates infinite magecraft triggers to close out the game. Targeted bounce spells (like You Come to a River) serve a dual purpose beyond removal: they deliberately target your own permanents to trigger Orvar, the All-Form for free token copies, and they reset creatures put onto the battlefield via Sneak Attack before the end-step sacrifice fires — allowing repeated ETB reuse. Cheap instants and sorceries that target your own permanents are therefore a protected category, valued for their Orvar synergy as much as their face text.
