Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER
Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER Commander Deck
Mono-black aristocrats. Sephiroth turns every creature death into a drain-and-gain trigger and refunds sacrifices with cards. Once four deaths resolve in a turn, it transforms and leaves behind a permanent emblem that keeps draining. The list is built from three layers: free sacrifice outlets, recursive or token-making fodder that dies again and again, and a deep stack of death-payoff drainers whose triggers Drivnod doubles. It closes on mass life drain, with combo lines through Yawgmoth, Blood Artist effects and recurring creatures. How it wins: Repeated sacrifice loops and big sacrifice turns stack Sephiroth's triggers, its emblem and the other drain payoffs until every opponent's life total is gone, with Gray Merchant and Bolas's Citadel as burst finishers. Key roles: - Free sacrifice outlets: Cost-free ways to kill creatures at instant speed. They make death triggers on demand, help flip Sephiroth within a single turn, and often generate mana, card selection or cards while doing it (Ashnod's Altar, Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Viscera Seer). - Recursive and token fodder: Creatures that come back from the graveyard for little or no cost, or that leave tokens behind. They give the outlets endless bodies, and several of them form loops with a drainer for infinite damage (Gravecrawler, Nether Traitor, Bitterblossom). - Death-trigger drainers: Effects that copy Sephiroth's own drain on every death. Drivnod, Carnage Dominus makes each of them trigger twice, so a few sacrifices become lethal across the table (Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Vein Ripper). - Sacrifice-for-value engine: Sephiroth's attack trigger, along with spells and permanents that pay out cards or treasure per death. Feeding the board into them refuels the hand and ramps toward big turns (Skullclamp, Pitiless Plunderer, Village Rites). - Edict and Grave Pact control: Each sacrifice also strips opponents' boards. Symmetric edict creatures and Grave Pact effects punish opponents far more than this deck, whose fodder returns, and each opposing creature that dies adds to the drain count (Grave Pact, Fleshbag Marauder, Plaguecrafter). - Black mana and tutor burst: Devotion and Swamp-count lands, rituals and a dense tutor suite find the combo pieces and power out a lethal turn, including a large Gray Merchant drain or Citadel's sacrifice of ten permanents (Cabal Coffers, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Demonic Tutor).
