Obeka is a Voltron commander: equipment makes her bigger, evasive and protected, and every point of combat damage she deals becomes an extra upkeep step after that combat phase. The rest of the deck is packed with "at the beginning of your upkeep" triggers (the Courts, card draw, suspend and time counters, copy-making artifacts) that each fire again in every bonus upkeep. Double strike, extra combats and power multipliers turn one hit into a large stack of upkeeps that drains, mills, draws and builds an overwhelming board. How it wins: Obeka connects for big damage, and the resulting pile of extra upkeeps either kills outright through Court and drain triggers, wins on the spot with Mechanized Production copying an artifact eight times, or leaves a suited-up Obeka to finish opponents with commander damage. Key roles: - Suiting up Obeka: Equipment pumps Obeka's power so each hit buys more upkeeps, and some pieces fetch, attach or copy themselves cheaply. (Excalibur, Sword of Eden, Wrecking Ball Arm, Blackblade Reforged) - Getting through and hitting twice: Evasion, menace support, double strike and doubled power make sure Obeka connects and multiply the damage, and so the upkeep count. (Leyline Axe, Psychic Paper, Two-Handed Axe // Sweeping Cleave) - Extra combats and extra beginnings: Additional combat phases give Obeka more chances to trigger, and an extra beginning phase every turn adds still more upkeeps on top of hers. (Karlach, Fury of Avernus, Seize the Day, Shadow of the Second Sun) - Upkeep payoffs: The Courts and other upkeep engines punish opponents with discard-or-lose-life, damage and mass mill, draw cards and dig through the library, and each one repeats in every bonus upkeep. Copying triggers or Obeka herself adds even more. (Court of Ambition, Court of Embereth, Twilight Prophet) - Time-counter acceleration: Suspend cards and time-counter permanents race to completion across several upkeeps in a single turn, turning slow cards into immediate free spells, tutors and mana. (As Foretold, Profane Tutor, Doom's Time Platform) - Artifact-copy alternate win: Copy effects multiply artifacts each upkeep, and Mechanized Production with a stack of extra upkeeps reaches eight same-named artifacts for an instant win. (Mechanized Production, Court of Vantress, Replicating Ring)
