Wayta, Trainer Prodigy
Wayta, Trainer Prodigy Commander Deck
Wayta, Trainer Prodigy leads a Naya Dinosaur enrage deck. It deliberately damages its own creatures with fights, pingers and small sweepers, and Wayta doubles every enrage or other "dealt damage" trigger those hits cause. Wayta's cheap self-fight ability (just {G} when both targets are friendly), plus repeatable pings and one-damage board sweeps, turns enrage creatures into engines that draw cards, fetch lands, steal or exile opposing creatures, force sacrifices and redirect damage. Damage prevention and indestructible effects keep the herd alive while it grinds out opposing boards and grows into lethal trampling attackers. How it wins: It wins by overwhelming opponents with huge hasty, trampling Dinosaurs or by redirecting damage dealt to its own Dinosaurs at opponents, with the Polyraptor and Forerunner of the Empire loop and the Apex Altisaur, Wrathful Raptors and Heroic Intervention line as instant game-enders. Key roles: - Self-damage triggers: Repeatable or mass damage aimed at its own creatures sets off enrage. Wayta doubles each of those triggers, and fighting two of its own creatures costs almost nothing. (Pyrohemia, Forerunner of the Empire, Marauding Raptor) - Enrage payoffs: Each hit draws cards, ramps lands, grows the creature, exiles opposing creatures, or makes every opponent sacrifice a permanent. Wayta doubles all of these. (Ripjaw Raptor, Trapjaw Tyrant, Silverclad Ferocidons) - Damage redirection and fight chains: Damage dealt to its own Dinosaurs is turned back at opponents and their creatures. Apex Altisaur can fight over and over on doubled triggers, which leads to the board-wiping, near-infinite damage combo. (Wrathful Raptors, Apex Altisaur, Heroic Intervention) - Survival through damage: Prevention, indestructibility and damage-into-counters effects let the deck ping and sweep its own board freely, and protection keeps the engine pieces safe. (Temple Altisaur, Vigor, Boros Charm) - Token explosion: Copy-on-damage creates a stream of bodies. Paired with a pinger that triggers on each Dinosaur entering, it loops into infinite tokens and damage. Trample damage can also be turned into new tokens. (Polyraptor, Forerunner of the Empire, Quartzwood Crasher) - Big Dinosaur ramp and closers: Mana creatures, land fetching, cost reducers and haste enablers rush out huge Dinosaurs. Trample and pump effects, plus card draw keyed to high power, finish the game. (Ghalta, Primal Hunger, Regisaur Alpha, Garruk's Uprising)
