Meren of Clan Nel Toth runs a classic aristocrats-recursion loop. Creatures with useful enter and death triggers are sacrificed to free outlets, and each death gives Meren an experience counter. At every end step the best creature comes back, onto the battlefield if its mana value is low enough or into hand if not. Self-mill and entomb effects stock the graveyard, death-trigger enchantments turn each sacrifice into cards or opponents' sacrifices, and a grindy value edge snowballs into board control and life drain. How it wins: It grinds opponents out by repeatedly recurring edict and drain creatures under Grave Pact-style effects until their boards are gone, then finishes with life drain from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Kokusho, the Evening Star, Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and Massacre Wurm, or by beating down with the surviving army. (Fleshbag Marauder, Sakura-Tribe Elder, Stitcher's Supplier) - Graveyard filling and reanimation: Self-mill, dredge and entomb effects load the graveyard, and reanimation spells, recursion engines and a token copier on graveyard entries cheat back the big threats. (Buried Alive, Sheoldred, Whispering One, Twilight Diviner) - Land recursion package: Milled lands come back through land-from-graveyard effects, fueling ramp, Worm Harvest tokens and repeated Strip Mine or Ghost Quarter destruction.
