Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn turns life gain into an engine for distributing +1/+1 counters across the board, using a wide array of lifelink creatures to ensure life is gained every combat and then converting that life into a growing army of outsized threats. Cards like Nykthos Paragon amplify this further by placing counters on every creature simultaneously, while effects that grant trample and double strike turn the counter-laden board into a lethal combat force. The deck can also win through alternate conditions — Felidar Sovereign and Test of Endurance reward the naturally high life totals the deck accumulates, and Aetherflux Reservoir offers a direct damage outlet once enough life has been stockpiled.
