Maralen, Fae Ascendant leads an Elf and Faerie kindred deck: every Elf or Faerie entering exiles the top two cards of an opponent's library, and once per turn Maralen lets the deck cast one of those cards for free if its mana value is at most the number of Elves and Faeries in play. The list floods the board with cheap mana Elves, token makers and flash Faeries. That keeps the exile engine firing on every turn and makes Maralen's free-cast threshold large enough to steal the opponents' best spells. Changelings and type-granting effects count as both tribes, so they push the count even higher. How it wins: It goes wide with a huge Elf and Faerie board, powers it up with lords, and closes through combat or with Lathril, Blade of the Elves draining each opponent for 10 by tapping ten Elves. Key roles: - Elf mana engine: Mana Elves and Elf-count mana producers turn a wide board into explosive mana, deploying more kindred creatures each turn and paying for big activations. (Priest of Titania, Elvish Archdruid, Circle of Dreams Druid) - Token flooding: Kindred token makers multiply bodies, and each Elf token entering is another Maralen trigger and another point toward her free-cast threshold. (Elvish Promenade, Lys Alana Huntmaster, Doubling Season) - Flash Faerie tempo: Instant-speed Faeries trigger Maralen on opponents' turns, counter spells, and reward casting during other players' turns with card draw, drain and removal. (Spellstutter Sprite, Obyra, Dreaming Duelist, Voracious Tome-Skimmer) - Changeling glue: Shapeshifters and type-granting effects count as both Elves and Faeries, fueling Maralen's threshold and every kindred payoff at once. (Springleaf Parade, Black Market Connections, Firdoch Core) - Kindred card advantage: Cast triggers and type-count draw spells refill the hand from the creature-dense deck, keeping the chain of entering creatures going. (Beast Whisperer, Harmonized Crescendo, Leaf-Crowned Visionary) - Anthems and finishers: Elf lords and the Lathril drain turn a wide board into lethal pressure, and clone effects copy key engines like Maralen or the mana producers. (Lathril, Blade of the Elves, Imperious Perfect, Spark Double)
