Anikthea, Hand of Erebos
Anikthea, Hand of Erebos Commander Deck
Anikthea is an enchantress deck: it chains cheap, discounted enchantments to fire cast and constellation triggers that draw cards, add mana and build a board. Anikthea is the recursion engine. Each time she enters or attacks, she exiles a non-Aura enchantment from the graveyard and makes a 3/3 Zombie token copy of it, and since those copies are enchantment creatures, they gain menace from her. Token doublers and copy effects multiply both her reanimated copies and the deck's other token makers, so the board grows into a wide, hard-to-block army. How it wins: It overwhelms opponents with a wide board of menace-bearing enchantment creatures and tokens, pumped by anthems and power doubling, backed by constellation drain and an occasional huge mana turn. Key roles: - Enchantress engine: Casting or landing enchantments draws cards and gains life, which keeps the chain of cheap enchantments going. (Sythis, Harvest's Hand, Enchantress's Presence, Eidolon of Blossoms) - Graveyard enchantment recursion: Anikthea's triggers, upkeep and end-step returns, and self-mill keep enchantments coming back from the graveyard, both as card advantage and as fresh constellation triggers. (Starfield of Nyx, Yuna, Hope of Spira, Deadbridge Chant) - Token multiplication and copying: Doublers and triplers multiply Anikthea's Zombie copies, Angels and Pegasi, while populate and copy effects duplicate the best enchantment tokens. (Doubling Season, Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation, Ondu Spiritdancer) - Enchantment-count mana: Cost reducers, land auras and enchantment-scaling mana sources lead to explosive turns, and the mana doublers turn those into huge mana. (Serra's Sanctum, Sanctum Weaver, Nyxbloom Ancient) - Board payoffs and finishers: Cast and constellation triggers create flyers, grow anthems, shrink opposing creatures and drain life, while power doubling turns a wide menace board into lethal damage. (Sigil of the Empty Throne, Boon of the Spirit Realm, Unnatural Growth) - Resilience and control: Hexproof, shroud, attack taxes and one-sided wipes that leave enchantment creatures standing protect the engine from interaction and opposing attacks. (Sterling Grove, Sphere of Safety, Extinguish All Hope)
