The Necrobloom
The Necrobloom Commander Deck
Built as an Abzan aristocrats-tokens deck, The Necrobloom turns every land drop into a Plant or, once seven differently named lands are out, a 2/2 Zombie. Those bodies and other creatures are sacrificed and recycled for value. Death triggers multiplied by Teysa Karlov produce Spirit tokens, card draw and life drain, while +1/+1 counter synergies make each nontoken death worth more and recursion keeps the engine running. Land ramp, fetchlands and Gitrog-style land recursion feed the landfall side, and dredge on land cards lets the graveyard refill itself. How it wins: It builds a wide board of tokens (sometimes 4/4 Angels) and drains opponents through repeated death triggers, or it assembles The Gitrog Monster with The Necrobloom's land dredge for a near-infinite draw-and-mill loop that ends the game. Key roles: - Landfall token engine: Extra land drops, land fetching and replaying lands from the graveyard turn the commander's landfall into a stream of Plants or Zombies, with diverse land names pushing toward the Zombie upgrade. (Oracle of Mul Daya, Ramunap Excavator, Rampant Rejuvenator) - Gitrog dredge loop: Land cards hitting the graveyard draw cards, and dredge 2 on lands replaces those draws with mills that can hit more lands, creating a self-sustaining draw/mill chain alongside the upkeep land sacrifice. (The Gitrog Monster, Harrow, Evolving Wilds) - Sacrifice outlets and death payoffs: Free and value sacrifice outlets convert tokens and creatures into cards, scry, land and drain, with death payoffs and triggers doubled. (Teysa Karlov, Cauldron of Essence, Moldervine Reclamation) - Spirit and token multiplication: Nontoken deaths and token creation spawn flying Spirits or extra tokens, and token creation can be upgraded wholesale into 4/4 flying Angels. (Divine Visitation, Thalisse, Reverent Medium, Field of Souls) - Counters subtheme: +1/+1 counters are amplified and spread so that dying creatures yield extra tokens and cards based on their counters or power. (Winding Constrictor, Felisa, Fang of Silverquill, One with the Kami) - Graveyard recursion: Dead creatures return to hand or battlefield, often with counters, so the same bodies feed death triggers repeatedly, and the creature-filled graveyard also fuels Spirit and Plant payoffs. (Valkyrie's Call, Phyrexian Reclamation, Insidious Roots)
