Lyse Hext
Lyse Hext Commander Deck
Lyse Hext voltron: the deck makes Lyse cheaply and heavily enchanted. Her cost reduction turns a flood of one- and two-mana Auras, cantrip artifacts and counterspells into near-free noncreature spells. Every spell pumps her through prowess, and the second spell each turn gives her double strike. Most Auras and trinkets replace themselves, so the deck chains cheap spells, refills its hand, grows one evasive threat and protects it with flash hexproof effects and soft counters. How it wins: An enchanted, evasive Lyse Hext with double strike, often doubled again by damage-doubling equipment or huge hand-size and permanent-count pumps, deals lethal commander damage over one or two attacks. Key roles: - Cantrip Auras and Aura payoffs: cheap Auras that draw a card, give flying or unblockability and stack stats, backed by creatures that draw extra cards whenever an Aura or Equipment is cast and grow with Auras attached (Sage's Reverie, Kor Spiritdancer, Sram, Senior Edificer) - Evasion and damage multipliers: Auras and equipment that make the carrier unblockable or trampling, double its combat damage, or add huge bonuses scaled by hand size or permanent count, turning Lyse Hext's double strike into fast commander kills (Inquisitor's Flail, Steel of the Godhead, Hand of Vecna) - Cheap spell chaining: one-mana cantrip artifacts and sacrificial eggs, discounted by Lyse Hext, plus effects that reward the second spell each turn, so prowess and double strike switch on cheaply every turn (Alisaie Leveilleur, Alphinaud Leveilleur, Chromatic Sphere) - Hand refill and big-hand payoffs: wheels and draw-three effects keep fuel flowing and feed hand-size and cards-drawn payoffs that pile counters or stats on the attacker (Windfall, Nerd Rage, Proft's Eidetic Memory) - Protecting the threat: flash hexproof Auras and equipment, protection effects, and counters that stop targeted removal keep the enchanted commander alive and are themselves cheap noncreature triggers (Starlit Mantle, Keep Safe, Pippin, Guard of the Citadel) - Monk token backup: the same stream of noncreature spells produces prowess Monk tokens as a secondary board if Lyse Hext is answered (Monastery Mentor, Aligned Heart)
