Norin, Swift Survivalist- Low Curve, Low Power
Norin, Swift Survivalist Commander Deck
Mono-red one-mana aggro swarms the table with cheap, hasty attackers, then makes blocking pointless. Norin turns every blocked creature into a card that can be exiled and replayed the same turn, so blocks rarely trade. Many creatures, equipment and auras also punish or profit from becoming blocked by dealing damage, drawing cards or killing the blocker, while goad and forced-attack effects keep pressure on. How it wins: It chips opponents out through relentless wide attacks with pumped one-drops, then finishes them with direct burn, pings and sacrifice-fueled damage. Key roles: - Block punishment: Creatures and equipment that fire when blocked deal damage to the blocker or the defending player, or draw cards, so every block costs the opponent. Norin then lets the blocked creature be exiled and recast to escape the combat entirely. (Infiltration Lens, Tormentor's Helm, Karplusan Wolverine) - Cheap equipment and auras: Low-cost equipment and auras turn 1/1s into real threats and grant haste or evasion. Equipment that stays behind after a creature is exiled by Norin can be moved onto the next body, and Sai of the Shinobi reattaches whenever a creature enters. (Sai of the Shinobi, Bonesplitter, Goblin Gaveleer) - Hasty one-drop swarm: A deep curve of one-mana hasty attackers and token makers gives Norin many triggers and keeps re-deployment cheap after creatures are exiled and replayed. (Harried Spearguard, Stadium Headliner, Phoenix Chick) - Forced combat: Goad and must-attack effects push opposing creatures into attacking elsewhere or force the deck's own creatures to keep swinging, which keeps the attack-and-block pattern going. (Taunting Kobold, Furor of the Bitten, Incite) - Sacrifice and reach: Death triggers, sacrifice outlets and pingers turn spare or doomed creatures into direct damage that closes games once the board stalls. (Goblin Grenade, Fireblade Charger, Scorched Rusalka) - Free-cast lock: Vexing Bauble counters spells cast without spending mana, which hurts free-spell opponents. The deck rarely suffers from it, since nearly all its own spells, including cards replayed from exile through Norin, cost mana. (Vexing Bauble)
