Sauron, the Lidless Eye leads a theft-and-sacrifice strategy that repeatedly steals opponents' creatures, swings with them, then sacrifices them for value before they can be returned. The deck uses a wide suite of temporary control effects — from single-target spells to mass takeovers like Insurrection — to fuel sacrifice outlets that trigger death-based drain effects through Blood Artist-style payoffs and Grave Pact-style forced sacrifice, grinding opponents down on life while denying their boards. The deck can also win through a direct damage angle, using enter-the-battlefield trigger amplifiers like Warstorm Surge alongside the commander's repeatable life drain activation to close out games.
