Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER // Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel Commander Deck
Mono-black aristocrats built around Sephiroth: creatures die, tokens get fed to sacrifice effects, and each death drains an opponent while Sephiroth draws cards off its enter and attack sacrifices. Four death triggers resolving in one turn flip Sephiroth into the One-Winged Angel, whose emblem makes every later creature death a permanent drain, and whose attack can sacrifice any number of creatures to draw that many cards. Lifegain from those drains then feeds a second layer of payoffs that turn every point of life gained into more life loss, or into cards. How it wins: It wins by stacking death drains, lifegain-to-damage loops and doubled life loss until opponents bleed out, with the Exquisite Blood plus Aetherflux Reservoir loop and Peer into the Abyss with Sheoldred or Bowmasters as outright kills. Key roles: - Sacrifice fodder and outlets: These cards provide bodies and free sacrifice outlets so Sephiroth reaches four death triggers in a turn and its attack sacrifices always draw cards (Bitterblossom, Warren Soultrader, Black Market Connections). - Death drain payoffs: These duplicate Sephiroth's drain on every creature death and punish opponents' boards through forced sacrifices that also count toward the transform (Blood Artist, Grave Pact, The Meathook Massacre). - Lifegain-to-damage engine: Every drain and lifelink hit gains life, and these cards convert that life into more opponent life loss or extra cards, up to an infinite loop (Exquisite Blood, Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose). - Life-loss amplifiers: These double life loss on the deck's turn or punish opponents' draws, so the drains and forced draws hit much harder (Bloodletter of Aclazotz, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Underworld Dreams). - Forced-draw kill package: Making an opponent draw half their library becomes lethal through draw punishers, so tutors can assemble a finisher out of nowhere (Peer into the Abyss, Orcish Bowmasters, Demonic Tutor). - Recursion and death-value: Creatures that die come back to die again, and dying creatures generate Treasures that fuel big turns or a Revel in Riches win (Avacyn, Angel of Horror, Whip of Erebos, Pitiless Plunderer).
