This is a mono-black edict and discard deck that strips opponents of creatures, permanents and hand cards, then steals the results. Tergrid is the engine: whenever an opponent sacrifices a nontoken permanent or discards a permanent card, you may put it onto the battlefield under your control. Her Lantern side forces repeated sacrifice-or-discard-or-lose-3 choices, and untapping it with {3}{B} lets it keep going. Nearly every other card exists to make opponents sacrifice or discard, so each effect becomes either a removal spell or a theft. How it wins: You grind opponents out of resources while building a board from their stolen permanents, then close with life loss from Lantern activations and drain effects like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse or Bolas's Citadel. Key roles: - Edict and sacrifice effects: Cards like Sheoldred's Edict, Plaguecrafter and Liliana of the Veil make opponents sacrifice creatures, and Tergrid lets you take what they sacrifice. Sheoldred, Whispering One adds a sacrifice every opponent upkeep. - Discard and hand disruption: Despise, Divest, Burglar Rat and Bandit's Talent empty opponents' hands and feed Tergrid's discard trigger. Tinybones and Waste Not reward the same discards with extra value. - Reanimation and recursion: Reanimate, The Eldest Reborn and Sheoldred, Whispering One bring back or take creatures from any graveyard. This also covers your own creatures that die to symmetrical effects. - Mana and card flow: Rocks like Mind Stone and Coldsteel Heart, plus Dark Ritual, pay for early disruption and for Lantern untaps. Phyrexian Arena and Dark Confidant refuel the hand. - Symmetrical sacrifice payoffs: Grave Pact, Zodiark, Braids and Liliana, Dreadhorde General profit from sacrifices and from Pox Plague or Rankle's Prank effects. They turn those sweeps into one-sided wins, because you keep what Tergrid steals.
