Anim Pakal is the engine. Each time a non-Gnome creature attacks, it gains a +1/+1 counter and then makes Gnome artifact tokens, tapped and attacking, equal to its counter total, so the army grows every combat. The deck builds around three things: getting cheap non-Gnome attackers into combat every turn, adding extra +1/+1 counters to Anim Pakal to speed up the token count, and making those mass Gnome arrivals deal damage, through creature-enters and artifact-enters burn triggers, token doublers, trigger copiers and attack-trigger multipliers. How it wins: Repeated attacks swarm the board with Gnomes while each wave of tokens triggers burn on every opponent, finishing with an overwhelming alpha strike or a sacrifice outlet that turns the whole army into direct damage. Key roles: - Counter acceleration: Extra +1/+1 counters on Anim Pakal, and on attackers, raise the Gnome count each combat. Bonus counters, counter-on-attack effects and counter-adding protection spells all turn into more tokens. (Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion, Keleth, Sunmane Familiar, Luminarch Aspirant) - Trigger and token multiplication: Doubling the tokens created, or making the attack trigger fire extra times, multiplies the output of Anim Pakal. One attack can produce a huge wave of Gnomes. (Mondrak, Glory Dominus, Windcrag Siege, Kirol, Attentive First-Year) - Enter-the-battlefield burn: Every Gnome is a creature and an artifact entering the battlefield, so these pings scale with the token waves and drain the whole table each combat. (Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, Ingenious Artillerist) - Token combat payoffs: These keep the tapped, attacking Gnomes alive and make them hit harder. They grant evasion, double strike and combat-damage prevention, and they reward having many small creatures. (Neyali, Suns' Vanguard, Dolmen Gate, Arabella, Abandoned Doll) - Token-fueled card advantage: Once-per-turn draw engines and death-draw effects turn steady token creation into a reliable stream of cards. (Skullclamp, Caretaker's Talent, Bennie Bracks, Zoologist) - Sacrifice finish and board protection: A free sacrifice outlet converts spare Gnomes into direct damage. Mass-protection instants, several of them free with the commander out, protect the board on the key swing turn. (Goblin Bombardment, Flawless Maneuver, Akroma's Will)
