Doctor Doom, King of Latveria
Doctor Doom, King of Latveria Commander Deck
This Grixis Villain tribal deck is built around conniving: Doctor Doom gives a Villain menace and makes it connive every combat, and the other Villains, connive triggers and loot effects keep a steady draw-then-discard engine running. Every discard is then turned into value. Discarded lands make Doom drain each opponent for 2, nonland discards grow creatures with +1/+1 counters, and discard payoffs ping, drain and shrink the table. The graveyard filled along the way becomes a resource for reanimation, mayhem and recasting. How it wins: Growing evasive Villains that connive and attack through menace, flying or unblockability, while repeated discard triggers from Doom and the damage enchantments and creatures bleed every opponent out. Key roles: - Connive engines: Villains and effects that make creatures connive again and again, each time drawing cards, filtering the hand and adding counters, with extra draws and plan counters stacked on top (Leader, Super-Genius, Prowler, Clawed Thief, Baron Strucker, HYDRA Overlord). - Connive payoffs: cards that reward every connive by spreading counters across the Villain team, making Robot Villain tokens or building toward free spells, so the board snowballs (Iron Monger, Sadistic Tycoon, Ultron, Unlimited, Glorious Purpose). - Discard damage: permanents that convert each discard into damage, drain or -1/-1 counters on the opposing board, and together with Doom's land-discard drain they serve as the main reach (Magmakin Artillerist, Faith of the Devoted, Spider-Man, New Champion). - Looting and land fodder: rummaging creatures, cycling lands and draw-discard spells keep cards moving and supply land cards to discard for Doom's drain, with extra cards from second-draw triggers (Currency Converter, Kang, Temporal Tyrant, Monument to Endurance). - Villain tribal support: cost reducers, Villain-only mana, team anthems, Villain recursion and token makers that fill the board with Villains to target and trigger off (Doctor Octopus, Master Planner, Tombstone, Career Criminal, Crossbones, Malicious Mercenary). - Graveyard recursion: discarded creatures and spells come back through reanimation, mayhem and free casting from the graveyard, so discarding powerful cards is often an upside (Oskar, Rubbish Reclaimer, Norman Osborn, Victimize).
