Zilortha makes lethal damage to creatures you control depend on power rather than toughness, so this Gruul big-power deck can run high-power, low-toughness creatures and still survive its own mass damage. Blasphemous Act, Chain Reaction and Chandra's Ignition become one-sided board wipes as long as its creatures' power is greater than the damage dealt. Around that, the deck ramps into oversized creatures, draws cards whenever power-4-plus creatures enter, and pumps power through doubling and haste effects to trample over opponents. How it wins: It clears the board with one-sided damage sweepers or fight effects, then swings with huge, power-doubled tramplers, or deals lethal damage to every opponent at once by having a giant creature like an attacking Jumbo Cactuar fire Chandra's Ignition. Key roles: - Power-based survival sweepers: With Zilortha out, damage wipes and power-based burn kill opposing creatures while the deck's high-power creatures survive, and some of them also hit opponents directly (Blasphemous Act, Chain Reaction, Chandra's Ignition). - Fight and bite removal: Its large creatures deal damage equal to their power to targeted creatures, and Zilortha keeps them alive when they fight bigger blockers (Stump Stomp // Burnwillow Clearing, Khalni Ambush // Khalni Territory, Bridgeworks Battle // Tanglespan Bridgeworks). - Power-matters card draw: Cards are drawn whenever creatures with power 4 or more enter, are cast, or deal heavy damage, turning the threat density into card advantage (Garruk's Uprising, Garruk's Packleader, Beast Whisperer). - Power doubling and haste: Effects that double or boost power and grant haste let new fatties attack immediately for huge amounts (Xenagos, God of Revels, Unnatural Growth, Enduring Courage). - Trample and evasion: Granting trample and making blocks irrelevant pushes the oversized power through to players (Surrak and Goreclaw, Proud Wildbonder, Archetype of Aggression). - Power-scaled ramp and cost reduction: Mana production and discounts grow with creature power, accelerating into giants like Ghalta, Primal Hunger and The Skullspore Nexus (Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma, Ilysian Caryatid).
