This is an artifact-centric Dimir control deck. Basim Ibn Ishaq turns one historic spell each turn into a card and an unblockable attack, while a dense package of tutors digs for a specific engine: Sensei's Divining Top looping for free off cost reducers and top-of-library casting, feeding Aetherflux Reservoir. A heavy counterspell suite holds the table off and protects that engine while the deck sculpts its turn. How it wins: Once Top costs nothing and can be recast from the top of the library, the deck casts it over and over to draw through itself and build Aetherflux Reservoir's lifegain past 50, then fires the Reservoir at each opponent, with Basim's growing unblockable damage as a slow backup. Key roles: - Historic card flow: Cheap artifacts and legendaries trigger Basim Ibn Ishaq once per turn for a card and an evasive attack, while lieutenant, upkeep and combat-damage draw stack on top of that to keep hands full. (Loyal Drake, Grazilaxx, Illithid Scholar, Phyrexian Arena) - Cost reduction: Effects that shrink artifact and historic costs make cheap artifacts free, which is the core requirement of the combo, and also flood the board quickly. (Etherium Sculptor, Jhoira's Familiar, Foundry Inspector) - Casting from the top: Permanents that allow casting artifacts or historic spells off the library let a Top that has put itself back on top be cast again immediately, closing the loop and adding card advantage. (Mystic Forge, Crystal Skull, Isu Spyglass, Fortune Teller's Talent) - Top-Reservoir combo: Each free recast of Top draws a card and counts as another spell, so Aetherflux Reservoir's lifegain escalates until it can deal 50 damage at will. (Sensei's Divining Top, Aetherflux Reservoir) - Artifact tutoring: Creatures that tutor by mana value, artifact searches, transmute and land-based search assemble specific combo pieces, and an Assassin teammate lets one tutor deliver straight to hand. (Trinket Mage, Transit Mage, Whir of Invention) - Counter and bounce shell: A broad suite of cheap counters handles spells and abilities, while bounce and sweepers buy time and protect the combo turn. (Counterspell, Disallow, Cyclonic Rift) - Artifact recursion: Lands and creatures recover artifacts from the graveyard so lost combo pieces return. (Academy Ruins, Emry, Lurker of the Loch, Buried Ruin)
