Ayara, First of Locthwain leads a mono-black aristocrats deck. It wants a steady stream of cheap black creatures, often ones that come back from the graveyard, because each one that enters drains every opponent for 1. Those bodies are then sacrificed to outlets for cards, mana and value, while a wide spread of death-trigger payoffs turns each sacrifice into more life drain. Heavy devotion to black and a near-all-Swamp mana base power big mana, burst drains and Swamp-scaling removal. How it wins: It drains opponents out through repeated enter and death triggers from recursive creatures and token swarms, capped by devotion bursts like Gray Merchant of Asphodel or end-step life-loss doubling. Key roles: - Recursive fodder: Cheap black creatures that return from the graveyard over and over. Each return re-triggers Ayara's drain and gives the sacrifice outlets fresh material, and Food from the oven loops the cat. (Reassembling Skeleton, Cauldron Familiar, Persistent Specimen) - Sacrifice outlets: Free or cheap ways to kill the deck's own creatures. They convert bodies into cards, mana, tokens, reanimation or forced edicts, alongside Ayara's own tap-and-sacrifice draw. (Priest of Forgotten Gods, Witch's Oven, Ghoulcaller Gisa) - Death-trigger drain: Payoffs that ping every opponent or gain life whenever creatures die, and lifegain is chained into extra life loss. This makes every sacrifice loop a lethal clock. (Zulaport Cutthroat, Syr Konrad, the Grim, Marauding Blight-Priest) - Death-fueled card flow: Engines that draw off nontoken creatures dying, plus sacrifice spells that cash in bodies for cards, keeping the loop fed. (Grim Haruspex, Midnight Reaper, Body Count) - Token mass and reanimation: Zombie, Rat and Snake producers widen the board for sacrifice fodder and mass enter-drains. Reanimation and graveyard setup bring back key creatures. (Army of the Damned, Liliana, Heretical Healer, Whisper, Blood Liturgist) - Devotion and Swamp scaling: A mono-black permanent base and nearly all basic Swamps power mana bursts, cost reduction, Swamp-scaled sweepers and removal, and the big finishers. (Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Nyx Lotus, Cabal Stronghold)
