Kotis, the Fangkeeper

Kotis, the Fangkeeper Commander Deck

by gr8skawt100 cards

Kotis, the Fangkeeper is an indestructible commander that the deck tries to connect in combat as hard as possible. Each point of combat damage it deals exiles that many cards from the defending player's library, and the deck casts the spells among them with mana value up to that damage for free. The list pumps Kotis with +1/+1 counters and counter doublers, gives it evasion and trample, and runs an aristocrats sacrifice package of Zombies, recursive creatures, sac outlets and drain effects alongside it, which also feeds treasure, cards and counters back into the plan. How it wins: By swinging with a heavily countered, unblockable or trampling Kotis to cast opponents' best spells for free, while sacrifice drains and combat damage from the rest of the board close out the game. Key roles: - Counter growth on the commander: These cards stack and double +1/+1 counters on Kotis, raising its combat damage so it exiles more cards and lets bigger stolen spells be cast free. (Innkeeper's Talent, Growth Curve, Thickest in the Thicket) - Getting through: These cards make the attacker unblockable, give it trample, or shield it from bounce and exile so the damage trigger actually lands. (Rogue's Passage, Key to the City, Garruk's Uprising) - Stealing opponents' cards: These cards also play spells out of opponents' libraries and graveyards, piling extra free value onto the theft plan Kotis already runs. (Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor, Krang & Shredder, Dauthi Voidwalker) - Sacrifice engine: Free sac outlets turn fodder into treasure, mana, cards or scry, and creatures that come back from the graveyard keep the loop running. (Ashnod's Altar, Warren Soultrader, Reassembling Skeleton) - Death drains: These payoffs drain opponents and draw cards whenever creatures die, turning the sacrifice loops into reach and card advantage. (Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER) - Zombie and graveyard recursion: Zombie synergies and reanimation rebuild the board and refuel the sacrifice outlets, with landfall counters adding growth on the side. (Gravecrawler, Diregraf Colossus, Teval's Judgment)
