Chatterfang, Squirrel General
Chatterfang, Squirrel General Commander Deck
Chatterfang turns every token creation into extra 1/1 Squirrels, and the deck stacks token makers, Food and Treasure producers and token doublers on top of it to flood the board. That swarm is then spent two ways: sacrificed for value, card draw and drain triggers, or pumped by Squirrel lords and anthems for a wide alpha strike. Food is a major subtheme, feeding forage, Squirrel-making, recursion and card draw, while Chatterfang's own sacrifice ability works as removal or a finisher. How it wins: It either drains opponents out through repeated death and token triggers while sacrificing Squirrels en masse, or swings with a huge, pumped, often evasive Squirrel army. Key roles: - Token multiplication: Replacement effects and copy effects stack with Chatterfang so a single Food, Treasure or Squirrel snowballs into many tokens, with end-step and instant-speed doubling exploding the board (Hazel of the Rootbloom, Second Harvest, Peregrin Took). - Food and artifact engine: Food and Treasure makers, plus cards that make Foods count for more, fuel forage, Squirrel generation, mana and recursion loops like a cat returning off Food sacrifices (Academy Manufactor, Camellia, the Seedmiser, Cauldron Familiar). - Sacrifice outlets and card draw: Free and cheap sac outlets turn surplus tokens into cards, Treasure and counters, keeping the engine fueled (Skullclamp, Deadly Dispute, Plumb the Forbidden). - Aristocrat drain: Death, token-creation and token-leaving triggers punish opponents for every Squirrel made or sacrificed, letting mass sacrifice end the game outright (Mirkwood Bats, Zulaport Cutthroat, Nadier's Nightblade). - Squirrel tribal payoffs: Lords, counters and Squirrel-specific abilities grow the swarm, grant menace or trample, and draw cards on combat damage (Squirrel Sovereign, Chitterspitter, The Odd Acorn Gang). - Mass pump finishers: Team-wide one-shot boosts and evasion turn a wide board of 1/1s into lethal damage, backed by sweeper-style shrinks on non-Squirrels (End-Raze Forerunners, Beastmaster Ascension, Swarmyard Massacre).
