Goro-Goro and Satoru
Goro-Goro and Satoru Commander Deck
Goro-Goro and Satoru rewards creatures that entered this turn connecting with a player, and the deck is built to make that happen every turn. Hasty creatures and cheap evasive attackers get through, then ninjutsu swaps them for fresh Ninjas that enter tapped and attacking, so each hit counts as a "new" creature dealing damage. Every connection makes a 5/5 flying Dragon Spirit and draws cards. The commander's own {1}{R} haste ability, along with other mass-haste sources, lets freshly cast creatures and the Dragon tokens attack right away. How it wins: A steady stream of unblockable chip damage turns into a growing flock of 5/5 flying Dragons, which go wide in the air and burn opponents out with Dragon-entry damage. Key roles: - Evasive enablers: Cheap unblockable, shadow or haste bodies that connect early, both to trigger Goro-Goro and Satoru and to serve as ninjutsu fodder, backed by tools that grant evasion. (Slither Blade, Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive, Changeling Outcast) - Ninjutsu chain: Ninjas swapped in mid-combat count as entering that turn, so they trigger the commander and their own damage payoffs: card draw, removal, bounce, free spells and treasure. Cost reducers and the Satoru that grants ninjutsu to every creature in hand stretch the package further, and some of these cards also draw when they enter without being cast. (Satoru Umezawa, Silver-Fur Master, Ingenious Infiltrator) - Haste and fresh bodies: Mass haste effects and creatures or tokens that enter each combat give the deck new attackers every turn, so the commander keeps triggering even without ninjutsu. (Samut, Hazoret's Champion, Urabrask's Forge, Loyal Apprentice) - Dragon payoff: Extra Dragon producers and amplifiers turn the Dragon Spirit tokens into an army that multiplies itself and deals direct damage. (Utvara Hellkite, Dragon Tempest, Goro-Goro, Disciple of Ryusei) - Combat-damage card advantage: Effects that draw whenever creatures connect keep the hand full of ninjas and interaction. (Enduring Curiosity, Frostcliff Siege, Grazilaxx, Illithid Scholar) - Copy and recursion tricks: Copy effects and recurring creatures re-enter or duplicate attackers, and token copying can turn an army into copies of the best token. (Thousand-Faced Shadow, Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer, Flamewake Phoenix)
