Rakdos, Lord of Riots Commander Deck

by prepeppered87 cards

Rakdos, Lord of Riots leads a big-flyer ramp deck stocked with expensive Demons and Dragons. Each turn it first makes an opponent lose life, using pingers, symmetrical damage and mana rocks that drain, then casts Rakdos and huge creatures at a steep discount, since every point of life lost cuts their cost. Cheat-in tools, haste enablers and reanimation get the threats onto the board and swinging right away. The fliers then snowball through combat-damage triggers, board wipes and drain effects. How it wins: Overwhelming flying, trampling Demons and Dragons beat opponents down, helped by extra combat, attack-trigger burn and end-step life-loss doubling, with occasional alternate finishes like Exsanguinate or Hellkite Tyrant's artifact win. Key roles: - Life-loss enablers: Cheap, early effects that make an opponent lose life, often hitting every player, so Rakdos can be cast and creature spells get cheaper the same turn (Keen Duelist, Cast Away Doubt, Cryptolith Fragment) - Big flying payload: Expensive Demons and Dragons whose cost the commander slashes, each bringing evasive pressure and a powerful attack, damage or enter trigger (Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, Balefire Dragon, Archfiend of Despair) - Haste and immediate impact: Haste granters and an extra-combat engine let freshly discounted giants attack the turn they land and turn one combat into lethal (Rising of the Day, Ogre Battledriver, Scourge of the Throne) - Bypassing costs: Ramp, rituals and put-into-play effects deploy threats when the discount isn't enough, while madness creatures and graveyard reanimation bring back fallen fatties (Quicksilver Amulet, Dark Ritual, Victimize) - Life as a resource: Cards that turn the deck's own life loss into cards, plus tutors that pay life or sacrifice creatures to find the right threat, fuel a self-damage card engine (Vilis, Broker of Blood, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, Stargaze) - Treasure and artifact theft: Combat-damage triggers that make Treasure or steal opponents' artifacts refuel the mana for more giants and enable the artifact-count win (Ancient Copper Dragon, Hellkite Tyrant, Smaug, Wicked Worm)
