Gonti, Canny Acquisitor
Gonti, Canny Acquisitor Commander Deck
This is a thief deck built around connecting with lots of small evasive creatures. Each combat-damage hit exiles cards off opponents' libraries for the deck to play, and draws extra cards on top. Gonti, Canny Acquisitor turns any combat damage into one stolen card per player hit and makes every stolen spell a mana cheaper. A wide layer of unblockable one- and two-drops, combat-damage triggers, cost reducers for casting from exile, and trigger doubling turns each attack step into card advantage paid for with opponents' resources. How it wins: Repeated chip damage from unblockable and flying attackers, eventually backed by a +5/+5 anthem or counters, while stolen threats and free-cast spells from opponents' decks overwhelm the table. Key roles: - Evasive connectors: Cheap creatures that can't be blocked, fly or have fear reliably land combat damage every turn, triggering Gonti, Canny Acquisitor and every other on-hit effect. (Slither Blade, Invisible Stalker, Changeling Outcast) - On-hit theft engines: Extra sources that exile and grant play of opponents' cards when creatures connect, stacking with the commander so one attack steals several cards. (Gonti, Night Minister, Rogue Class, Dream-Thief's Bandana) - Combat-damage card draw: Effects that draw a card per hitting creature refuel the hand so the deck never runs out of attackers. (Edric, Spymaster of Trest, Bident of Thassa, Reconnaissance Mission) - Trigger doubling: Felix Five-Boots makes every combat-damage trigger from permanents happen twice, doubling theft, draws and counters. Beastmaster Ascension and +1/+1 counters grow the tiny attackers into a lethal force. (Felix Five-Boots, Beastmaster Ascension, Cazur, Ruthless Stalker) - Free-cast payoffs and direct theft: Hits or spells that cast opponents' cards for free or exile big chunks of their library, alongside creature steals that keep the opponent's best threats. (Kotis, the Fangkeeper, Villainous Wealth, Hostage Taker) - Stolen-spell discounts and library setup: Cost reducers for spells cast from exile or that the player doesn't own, plus mana usable only on those spells, make stolen cards cheap. Effects that put cards on top of opponents' libraries control what the next hit exiles. (Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius, Thieving Varmint, Misinformation)
