The Wise Mothman Commander Deck

by eldritch_scientist100 cards

The deck is a Sultai mill-and-counters deck that turns every nonland card milled into +1/+1 counters through The Wise Mothman. Mass mill from symmetrical engines, landfall, spell-cast triggers and big one-shot spells grows a board of flyers and evasive Mutants. Rad counters from the Mothman and its Fallout allies add more incidental milling each turn, which feeds the commander again. Proliferate and counter doublers multiply both the +1/+1 counters and the rad counters, while graveyard recursion recasts milled threats. How it wins: It either decks opponents outright through stacked mill engines and huge single mill spells, or attacks with a counter-swollen, evasive board, with Simic Ascendancy, life drain from proliferating, and the Mindskinner and Syr Konrad loop as alternate finishes. Key roles: - Mill engines: Repeating and symmetrical milling from upkeep, untap, landfall, spell-cast and life-loss triggers fires The Wise Mothman's counter trigger again and again while emptying libraries (Mesmeric Orb, Consuming Aberration, Ruin Crab). - Mill amplifiers and finishers: Effects that add extra cards to every opponent mill, turn damage into mill, or cut half a library at once close the game and stack a large X for the commander's trigger (The Water Crystal, The Mindskinner, Archive Trap). - Counter multiplication: Doublers, extra-counter effects and proliferate on every spell grow the counters the Mothman hands out, and push Simic Ascendancy toward its alternate win (Winding Constrictor, Branching Evolution, Inexorable Tide). - Rad and proliferate pressure: Rad counters from entering and attacking Mutants make opponents mill on their own turns. Proliferating those counters grows them further and drains life each time (Nuclear Fallout, Scheming Aspirant, Vexing Radgull). - Milled-card payoffs: Cards that make tokens, steal creatures, or cast spells straight out of freshly milled graveyards turn opponents' discarded cards into resources (Screeching Scorchbeast, The Master, Transcendent, Raul, Trouble Shooter). - Graveyard recursion and lands: Self-mill feeds replaying permanents and lands from the graveyard, which also chains landfall mill and proliferate triggers (Muldrotha, the Gravetide, Hedge Shredder, Mole Man, Moloid Master).
